As we step into a new year, many of us think about resolutions—but what if our greatest resolution is obedience?
In Matthew 14, Peter steps out of the boat. Leaving the boat looks a lot like our salvation journey: walking away from what feels safe, familiar, and worldly, and trusting Jesus enough to step into the unknown. Walking on the water isn’t about perfection—it’s about the process of satisfaction and transformation as we keep our eyes on Christ.
This walk with Jesus should produce new life—new desires, new passions, and new expectations. It grows as we exercise faith, prayer, and discipline. And when we fail, when fear distracts us and we begin to sink, we’re reminded of this truth: Jesus is close enough to catch us.
