Phil graduated from Bogue Chitto in 1983. He was raised in church, learning to sing & play many musical instruments. And, was involved in various Music Ministries throughout his youth. He also learned the HVAC trade by working at his family’s business throughout his teens.
After graduating, Phil packed up and moved to Texas, where he attended HVAC trade schools in Tyler…and then on to (SMU) Southern Methodist University in Dallas. After multiple Training classes and Certifications…Phil started off as an A/C Service Technician, working for multiple major HVAC Manufacturers and eventually owning his own HVAC company. He has also taught HVAC classes at a technical college. After over forty years in the Industry, Phil has held multiple positions within manufacturing companies throughout the US and he has travelled throughout Asia and the Middle East! He is currently an Area Sales Manager for Mitsubishi Electric. He holds a Texas HVAC Mechanical (Class A) license for Commercial Comfort Cooling & Process Refrigeration. (Since 1998).
Phil and his wife Renee’ (Barbo) met at 18…both being in the same church band! They were married in 1985. They’ve shared a common hobby with their love of music for over 41 years. Renee’ attended North Harris County College and Trinity School of Natural Heath. She has a “Doctor of Naturapathic Medicine” degree (ND) and is a Certified Natural Health Professional (CNHP)
Phil and Renee’ have had the privilege of being Foster Parents and they and their daughters have worked with Back to Basics Ministry (b2b.com) in the Houston area.
They have two daughters and two son-in-laws…(Brittney & Nick)(Courtney & Brandon) and 6 wonderful grandchildren…Benjamin, Adalynn, Gabriel, Abel, Josslynn and Elsie. They all currently live in Windsor Colorado.
Phil and Renee’ moved back to Mississippi in 2022 to be near family, and started their search for a new church family, one who helped the hungry, the orphaned, the broken, the abused, the prisoner….they found it at Centerpoint Church! Phil serves as an Elder and Renee’ is a part of the Jail Team Outreach. They are both Sunday School workers and both are on the Worship Team…which they feel honored to be a part of…in their senior years!
